Dales Railcard Offer
Northern Rail have announced details of a £6.00
flat fare offer which will be available to Dales Railcard holders and Friends
Gold Card holders from Monday 6th October 2008 until Saturday 7th February 2009.
A new, additional benefit will be available
during the first four weeks of the offer: take a friend for the same fare. From
6th October until 2nd November 2008, Dales Railcard and Gold Card holders can be
accompanied by another adult at the flat fare rate of £6.00 each.
The offer is for a day return ticket valid on
the Settle-Carlisle line including Brampton and Wetheral on the Tyne Valley line
and on the Leeds-Morecambe line. The normal Dales Railcard area of travel will
apply. Up to four children can accompany Dales Railcard holders for a flat fare
of £3.00 each. There are no restrictions relating to time of travel and the
offer is available during the Christmas-New Year period.
The flat fare ticket can be purchased from staffed stations on the day of travel
or in advance. When booking offices are closed or if you are boarding the train
at an unstaffed station, you should purchase your ticket from the conductor on
the train.
No further discount for children, concessionaries or railcards is permitted with the offer and it cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.

Metrocard and Metro Concessionary Pass Rail Offer to Carlisle and Morecambe
Once again anyone with a West Yorkshire MetroCard* or Metro English National Concessionary Pass can enjoy special offers on great days out on the Settle-Carlisle and Morecambe rail lines. And even those with 'bus only' MetroCards can enjoy the special offer too.
From Leeds, Bradford Forster Square or any intermediate Metro station on the Airedale Line, the special offer day return ticket costs just £8.
Valid on trains run by Northern Rail, the offer runs from Monday 3rd November 2008 to Saturday 14th February 2009 inclusive. MetroCard holders may travel on any day, but Metro English National Concessionary Permit holders may travel on Mondays to Fridays only.
Before starting their journey people taking advantage of the offer should purchase their special offer ticket from the ticket office, where they will be asked to show their valid MetroCard or Metro English National Concessionary Permit. Tickets can be bought in advance or from the conductor when boarding at unstaffed stations.

Winter Family Dales Experience Ticket
A Family Dales Experience Ticket, priced at just £10, allows any group of up to 2 adults and 3 children (aged up to 16) unlimited travel on Dales Experience Bus service 814, together with Cravenlink services 784 and 884, for a day during the Winter season.
OAP Concessionary Fares
Senior citizens from throughout England are entitled to free local off-peak bus travel from 1st April 2008. In order to benefit from the new entitlement anyone aged 60 or over needs a new style concessionary pass.
Concessionary free travel will generally be available between 0930 and 2300 on Mondays to Fridays, and at anytime on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Passes may also be used at anytime for journeys starting within the Craven District Council area, and from 0900 onwards on any journey starting within North Yorkshire or the City of York.
Passes may also be used on the following journeys:
0740 Pateley Bridge to Harrogate (service 24)
0715 Gunnerside to Richmond (service 30)
0840 Reeth to Richmond (service 30)
All local bus services are part of the scheme, including cross-boundary services which were previously excluded such as Yorkshire Coastliner and Pride of the Dales routes.

Ilkley DalesBus & Skipton DalesBus Rail Tickets
Ilkley DalesBus and Skipton DalesBus tickets allow a day return by train to Ilkley or Skipton, then unlimited travel on the Wharfedale area buses, as far north as Buckden. The tickets cost just £3.00 on top of the Cheap Day Return fare to your chosen station.
The tickets are available to either Ilkley or Skipton Rail
Stations from Leeds, Bradford Forster Square and all stations on the Airedale
and Wharfedale lines. An added bonus is that the tickets are available anytime.
(Cheap Day Return tickets are usually only available after 9.30am on Mondays to
Fridays, although there’s no time restriction at weekends.)
The tickets are valid on Pride of the Dales weekday bus services 72 and 72R between
Skipton, Grassington and Hebden, and weekday bus service 74 between Ilkley, Grassington and
Buckden, on Keighley & District Sunday bus service 66A between Skipton and Grassington, on
Sunday Dalesbus service 874 between
Ilkley, Grassington and Buckden and on Cravenlink Sunday bus services 784 and
884 between Ilkley and Skipton. One slight limitation is that the Skipton and
Ilkley versions of the ticket aren’t interchangeable, so you need to return
home from the same station.
Example Fares:
Note that the DalesBus tickets can only be combined with Cheap
Day Return fares, not any other type of ticket. A half-price child version of
the ticket is available, but the tickets cannot be combined with concessionary
fares for MetroPermit holders.
Dales Rover tickets offer unlimited travel on all participating DalesBus services on Sundays and Bank Holidays, regardless of which operator provides the service. They can be bought from the driver on any participating DalesBus service.
For 2008 there are two types of Dales Rover: the Dales Area ticket and the All Zones ticket.

A K-Day ticket allows travel on all Keighley & District Travel bus routes, including service 66A to Grassington. A Sunday ticket is valid all day, and is available from the driver for £3.00.
Pride of the Dales Rovers are valid on the weekday Skipton to Buckden and Ilkley to Grassington routes operated by Pride of the Dales.
They can only be purchased from the driver on the day of travel.
Prices (at January 2004): Adult £5.00, Under 16s £2.50, Family (2+2) £10.00
Travel 4 days in 8, travel anywhere on the railway line between Leeds/Bradford, Skipton, Settle and Carlisle. The Freedom of the Line Rover Ticket costs £42 for adults and £21 for children, and railcard discounts are available. This ticket is valid after 08:45 Monday to Friday and any time at weekends and bank holidays. A real opportunity to stay in the area and explore not only the wonderful countryside but the towns and villages surrounding the line.

The ticket is also available in a one-day version for travel between Settle and Carlisle only, called a Settle-Carlisle Ranger Ticket.
This ticket allows a circular journey over the scenic Settle-Carlisle and Tyne Valley railway lines, allowing travel between Leeds, Carlisle, Newcastle, York and Leeds. For more details click here. It offers superb value when compared with single tickets.
Harrogate & District Day Gold Tickets offer the freedom to travel on all routes run by Harrogate & District Travel, including buses from Leeds to Harrogate and Ripon, Harrogate to Skipton and Harrogate to Pateley Bridge. Day Gold tickets can also be used for travel on Ripon Roweller services to and from destinations beyond Ripon, including Fountains Abbey, Lightwater Valley and Masham.
Day Gold Tickets may be purchased from the driver on any H&D bus, by one adult travelling alone or by a group of people travelling together.

A Freedom ticket, priced at £7.50 for adults and £4.00 for a child ticket, is available on buses operated by Dales & District.
Dales Railcard
Dales Railcards can be purchased by residents in the postcode areas adjacent to the Skipton-Settle-Carlisle and Skipton-Lancaster railway lines. They cost just £10 and entitle holders to a one third discount on fares and permits up to four accompanying children to travel at discounted child fares. Friends Gold Ccard
Members of the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle line are able to purchase a Friends Gold Card. For just £12 a year it provides travel discounts on the Settle-Carlisle line, Leeds-Morecambe line and to/from Brampton and Wetheral on the Tyne Valley line. It even offers travel on those lines from stations between Leeds, Bradford and Skipton.
